Annual Appeal

We invite you to help the BAA transform Berkshire county for the better as we increase access to the visual arts and connect artists with our Berkshire community.

We invite you to be a part of the BAA’s mission to connect artists and community, inspire creativity, and increase access to the visual arts.

At whatever level, and in whatever way, the BAA will always value your contributions and your generosity.

It’s been a busy year at the Berkshire Art Association.

We kicked off our 2023 calendar with the 10x10 Real Art Party Benefit at Berkshire Museum in February where over 100 artists donated art. At that event, holders of $25 tickets acquired works created by some of the finest artists from the Berkshires and beyond. $2680 was raised to support art and arts education in the county, increase access to the Berkshire Museum for high school students, and to support BAA’s programs for young artists and college art students.

From the our Art Project Fund, the BAA board dedicated $1200 to make small grants to county art teachers to purchase needed supplies for their classrooms and to supported field trips for high school art students.

In March, BAA tried something new, our first Unfinished Show at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. Artists from the area were invited to submit work that was unfinished or in progress, sparking a unique opportunity for artistic exchange and critique.

The annual BAA Fellowship Show was held in April. This juried show is open to art majors from the Berkshires who are enrolled in colleges or universities and to art students enrolled in Berkshire County colleges. With the support of the Feigenbaum Foundation, the works of 15 students were chosen for the show, show, and 6 students received fellowship funds totaling $5000 to be used to support their artistic pursuits, extend their studies, or purchase materials.

We can’t wait to welcome you at our upcoming 10x10 Art Show Benefit on February 22 at a new location, the Clocktower Artist Studios at 75 South Church Street in Pittsfield. We hope you’ll join us our other 2024 exhibits: the the College Fellowship Show this spring and the 2024 BAA Biennial Juried Show at the Lichtenstein Gallery.

There’s so much to look forward to!

With appreciation for all your support,

Mary Beth Eldridge
BAA President
